Landmarks and Memories

Here I am in Port Stanley, Falkland Islands. While there with Simon and some other soldiers, the Island's governer gave a reception for us. The main tipple served was scotch Apparently, the governer was heard to mutter after an hour in our company that 'as soon as we can get rid of these oiks, we can serve some decent whisky'.

Surpsirse, surprise, the soldiers who liberated the Islands ten years before were now fit only for the second best scotch. Gratitude has a short memory.
