Landmarks and Memories

I wrote a piece for The Reading Post when I worked there in the 60s about being a photographer when the game had been made so glamorous by people like David Bailey. Wherever you went with a camera, people would yell out, "who do you think you are, David Bailey?" after his ads for the Olympus Trip.

It was sort of funny the first half dozen times but wore thin after that. For my sins, I also play guitar and used to occasionally walk through Reading town centre with my guitar over my shoulder round to a mate's place to jam a little. To constant taunts, "oi, give us a tune, mate" and the like. So I wrote a piece for the paper about the horrors of walking around with guitar over one shoulder and cameras over the other.

My mate Ken owner took this rather good picture to go with the piece.
